AI in Healthcare Projects | Chapter Event
OVERVIEW
QLD Health has delivered new technology for Metro North Health that uses algorithms for clinical decision making and the prioritisation of patient chest Xrays results. Metro North Health does about 30,000 Chest Xrays per year mostly from the RBWH Emergency Department.
This technology will use automation if more sinister items exist with the patient and bring this to the early attention of radiologists however this level of AI automation introduces project and BAU challenges that are not obvious.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
- The complex but crucial role of SME’s with AI.
- The unplanned overheads of AI governance for system selection and implementation.
- The assurances put in place with AI for ongoing clinical decision making.
