Overview
The Public Healthcare system is a complex industry driven by many dynamic factors. Most individuals have likely received medical attention from the public healthcare system at some point.
Population growth, legislation and policy, new treatments, technological advancement, and even international events all influence the supply and demand of healthcare services. The underpinning goal is to provide the public with world-class medical care.
This session will introduce some key terminologies of the Public Healthcare system. It will discuss challenges and lessons learnt from the go-live of a large 900+ bed metropolitan hospital, as well as innovative digital transformations and the re-engagement of a high-profile clinical initiative.

Speaker Introduction
Steve Gough
Program Manager (ICT)
Steve is an ICT professional project and program manager with over 12 years of leadership in medium to large deliveries. An active member of the PMI since 2011 with certifications in Agile, PMP, and PgMP. Academic qualifications include a BSc (Comp), GradDip(Bus), and an MBA.
Steve has worked in the domains of healthcare, transport, and more recently defence. His projects have been recognised by Queensland Health and awarded titles of “Most Innovative” and “People’s Choice”. In 2018, Steve led a program that received the PMI National Award for Best Project.
Steve is a continuous learner and has a military background that taught him the value of teamwork and that everyone has a role to play.

Students: This event is free for students (applicable to PMIQ student members and non-student members). For non-student members, please reach out to the Events team at events@pmiqld.org to receive a code for registration. You will need to provide a photo/screenshot of your student ID with its expiration date as proof of your enrolment status in Queensland tertiary education.
