Deeper Dive into Psychological Stress in Project Management | November Chapter Event & AGM 2023

Business Acumen

Overview

In this keynote presentation highly-experienced project management practitioner, multiply-accredited clinical psychotherapist, clinical hypnotherapist, counsellor and psychological stress researcher, Professor Alan Patching of Bond University, will take us on an engaging journey of comprehension and discussion of this important topic. He will challenge us to understand more of how the phenomenon of stress impacts us personally and how it might impact our teams and our work.

More importantly, he will help us comprehend the importance of understanding psychological stress and its potential impacts in the modern project management workplace, and what we can do to avoid stress and/or manage its impacts on individuals and on our projects. Importantly, Patching’s insights don’t come from some theoretical popular-press report or social media blogger with high enthusiasm for but few if any qualifications in the topic area – they come from personal projects experience, extensive clinical experience and internationally recognised research into stress and its specific causes and effects within the profession of project management.

Dr. Alan Patching is an experienced public speaker with over 2,500 keynote presentations delivered at major events internationally. He was once selected to represent Australia in international professional public speaking symposia so you can be sure of an energetic and engaged evening of interesting, exciting and valuable learning from someone whose comprehension comes from decades of actual project management experience on complex and high profile projects combined with findings from a formal and ethically approved study of stress among almost 500 project managers in Australia.
