Overview

In today's digital world, almost every project involves the use of technology and the internet, which exposes the project to a wide range of cyber threats, including data breaches, cyber-attacks, and ransomware. Cybersecurity threats can have a significant impact on a project's success and can result in reputational damage, financial losses, and legal implications.

Project managers have a critical role to play in ensuring that their projects are secure and protected from cyber threats hence having a good understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices to ensure that the project's data and systems are protected from unauthorized access and cyber threats. This includes ensuring that all team members follow organisations' security standards and practices, follow secure coding practices, implement security protocols and measures, and monitor the project's security status throughout its lifecycle.

In summary, project managers and cyber security are interconnected because project success depends on implementing effective security measures and protocols. Project managers must work closely with cybersecurity experts to ensure their projects are secure and protected from potential cyber threats, which can result in significant financial and reputational damage if left unchecked.
