Changing at work is a human experience | September Chapter Event
Learn from a practitioner who has worn both Project Management and Change Management hats in Higher Education projects, as they take a human-centric experiential view of organisational change.
Overview
When an organisation makes changes, people experience ‘changing’. The experience of changing is different for different people, and effective change-making requires a balance between addressing individual and collective responses and needs.
The management of change can be thought of as a whole, or a series of experiences people have. Experiences can be shaped for positive affect with imagination, creativity and a deep appreciation for psychosocial human factors. Drawing on a design sensibility, a fresh perspective can be applied in how to see, understand and treat people when changing in organisational contexts. Creating a meaningful experience of change benefits the current change and better prepares people for participation in future change initiatives.
