What Our Members Are Saying
Having engaged with various member-based professional bodies in the past, I often found myself underwhelmed—either by a lack of meaningful engagement or an atmosphere that felt more exclusive than inclusive. However, my experience with PMI Queensland has been a refreshing change. I recently re-joined PMI largely due to the positive energy, welcoming culture, and genuine passion of the PMI Queensland Executive Team. Their commitment to fostering a thriving project management community is evident in the high-quality events, proactive promotion of PM best practices, and, most importantly, their unwavering care and support for members. Whether you’re looking to expand your network, sharpen your skills, or simply be part of an inspiring professional community, PMI Queensland is the place to be. If you're not already involved, you're truly missing out!

I obtained my PMP in 2022 and joined the PMI Queensland Chapter in the coming months. Since joining, I have gained a wealth of project knowledge, meeting some inspirational project professionals, and an inspiring team of volunteers. When they are not managing projects, the PMI team work tirelessly, to deliver meaningful & engaging content. I have learnt so much about the field of project management, from cybersecurity and AI, to construction, contract law, mega-projects, and leadership theories, all while making some great friends along the way. PMIQ really are building a vibrant QLD, one project (or event) at a time!

Being part of PMI Queensland has been a transformative experience in my professional development. As a project controls specialist, PMIQ has provided a dynamic platform to connect with fellow professionals, share insights, and build lasting relationships that go beyond the workplace. PMIQ events have consistently delivered high-quality content and networking opportunities, allowing me to engage with industry leaders and stay current with emerging trends. PMI Queensland is more than a professional association, it’s a thriving community that fosters growth, collaboration, and genuine connection. I’m proud to be part of it.

Joining PMI Queensland in 2025 felt like a natural progression in my professional journey, having been PMP certified since 2013. I've attended a few Scale Toastmasters events and have learnt some useful approaches to actively sharpen my communication skills. What stood out immediately was PMI QLD chapter’s vibrant culture—welcoming, energetic and genuinely committed to fostering growth across Project Management. Initially, I was drawn to PMI Queensland for its high-quality events and continuous learning, but soon became pleasantly surprised regarding their emphasis on collaboration, innovation & upcoming partnerships that aims to enhance opportunities & experiences. Otherwise, the breadth of topics covered from AI and cybersecurity to leadership reflects a forward-thinking community that aligns perfectly with my values and aspirations. PMI Queensland isn’t just a professional body; it’s a thriving ecosystem where ideas flourish and you can make impactful meaningful connections.

The PMI Queensland chapter is like a community, supporting me in my professional role and in personal growth. I have formed long term professional friendships there. The Queensland chapter has provided a channel for learning and networking but also in giving back. I have received great satisfaction in presenting as well as in taking part in the PM Day of Service for many years. By joining the chapter you are able to take your PMI membership beyond simply receiving the PMBOK to being more complete and rounded, through a wide range of interest groups and presentations from AI to soft skills, as well as support in your own growth and efforts towards certifications. Even if you are less of a social project manager you will find there is a lot of opportunity for you to learn and grow. You will find the keenness of those involved is infectious. It is well worth the small investment to join.

s a PMP certified project manager and member of PMI Queensland Chapter for more than 10 years, I’ve found the community invaluable for both professional and personal growth. Through Chapter Events, and by volunteering in and attending Scale Toastmasters and the Job Club, I’ve been able to build skills, share knowledge, and support others. A highlight has been taking part as a consultant at the Project Management Day of Service (PMDoS) for the past three years, where more than 100 consultants worked with 40 non-profit organisations an insightful and rewarding experience. PMI QLD has provided me with lifelong learning, meaningful connections, and the opportunity to give back to the profession and community, just as they have supported me.
