Overview

Working Effectively with Difficult People

Every team requires a leader to coach them through to success. Having strong technical teams is not enough because we work with people with different personalities, motivations, and goals.

This session covers techniques and well-known frameworks for working effectively with people who seem to be difficult by understanding them and using specific strategies for influencing and communication. It’s a matter of understanding where they are coming from and what is likely to work best with them. You will learn how to approach the difficult behaviour of Tanks, Snipers, Know-It-Alls, Whiners, and others.

It’s a matter of understanding where they are coming from and what is likely to work best with them. You will learn how to approach the difficult behaviour of Tanks, Snipers, Know-It-Alls, Whiners, and others.

This short and engaging workshop will help all leaders to become better coaches and to improve the effectiveness of their team. We all encounter people at work with different personalities, motivations, and goals. At times, some people might even seem 'difficult' to work with and difficult to communicate with.

By participating in this workshop, you will take away very practical strategies for getting the best from people by understanding them and by using specific approaches and tactics. While understanding personality types is very important, we will go beyond personality types and explore specific difficult day to day behaviours that can cause us frustration and cause impediments to the project.

Takeaways/Lessons

  • Learn why do people act the way they do?
  • Identify the top 10 stress behaviours
