PROJECT MANAGEMENT IN THE 21ST CENTURY | October Chapter Event
Dr. Greg Usher is an Executive General Manager for RPS. He has managed the delivery of over $2B in Construction projects throughout Australia and the South Pacific, and currently manages over 150 client-side project management consultants across Australia. His Ph.D. research explored the lived experience of Project Managers in Australia and challenged many long-held beliefs on what project management is, and how it should be done. He sits on the Editorial Board for Project Management Research & Practice, has published dozens of research papers on Project Management.
During our session on 14th October, Dr. Greg will outline some of the key findings of his research, challenge some long-held beliefs regarding project management, and explore new ideas about project management from his upcoming book. Questions like:
- Could the traditional definition of ‘projects’ be wrong?
- Should we continue to base our profession on assumptions that are over a century old?
- Is there a fundamental shift required in the way we think about, and practice, project management if the profession is going to survive the coming decades?
If you are willing to have your ideas of Project Management challenged, then this is a session not to be missed, as we cover some thought-provoking ideas regarding the future of Project Management.
