Project Management in the 21st Century | November Chapter Event & AGM 2021
"What's next for Project Management?"
Dr Greg Usher will present thought-provoking insights that will challenge your perception of project management. He will present some findings from his new book “Project Management in the 21st Century: What you need to know about the Elephant, Eco-system and Experience." Which will challenge you to think about project management in a whole new way and also, explores the question - "What's next for Project Management?"
This will not be your typical project management presentation. It will not make you better at scheduling or cost controlling – but it might make you ask whether a project manager should do these things.
The presentation will shine a spotlight on some gaping holes in project management theory, discuss what that means for the future of project management as we enter the 4th Industrial Revolution, and challenge you to think about project management differently.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
This presentation is designed to challenge your ideas about project management and answer some critical questions:
- What if our assumptions on what our profession is built on are wrong?
- If the foundations are flawed, how does that change our future?
- What happens if AI can do our job better than we can?
- Is our profession destined for extinction?
