Speaker Introduction
Sheena Downey
(Founder of Digital Diligence Pty Ltd)
With 25+ years P3M experience across multiple industries, and certified in PSM, PMP, MSP and MoP, Sheena began volunteering with PMIQ in 2017 as a volunteer consultant for the PMDoS. That work is ongoing both as a member of the organising committee and a volunteer consultant working with charities and not-for-profit clients, and including leading the first (and only to date) virtual PMDoS in 2020.
Subsequent volunteer roles developed in 2018 when Sheena became Associate Director for Membership, followed by Special Projects and “firefighting” to help other Associate Directors with their respective portfolio’s; working with the Mentoring program as both Mentor and “assistant”; organising the PMIQ 20th birthday celebration party; and as COO.
Sheena considers herself “British by birth, Australian by choice”. Having won a competition to visit Australia as part of a “High Risk” adventure group – jumping out of a perfectly serviceable aircraft, cuddling a tiger, and abseiling down a 36-story hotel as part of the trip – Sheena fell in love with Queensland and made the move in 2007.
Sheena describes herself as a “Pessimistic Optimistic or an Optimistic Pessimist” – it changes around on a regular basis ! Sheena has a love for all things Resilient and Australia’s first RIOT Consultant – specialising in Resilience, Innovation, Optimisation, and Transformation.
Sheena has just completed her first book about Business Continuity, “Ensuring Business Resilience: A beginners' guide”, and is very much looking forward to sharing her knowledge, experience, skills and sense of humour as part of the PMIQ Board.
