Controlling Risks in Complex-Uncertain Project Environments
March 2016 chapter meeting features talk by Warren Black.
The global project industry has experienced noticeable improvements in defining and standardising both project control and risk management better practice. Yet, complex projects still appear to be failing to come in on time and under budget at an abnormally high rate.A significant amount of published frustration is available confirming the ineffectiveness of traditional project risk management practices in complex-uncertain environments.
Hence, Warren Black who's currently working with EY's Risk Transformation Team will present: the observed limitations of the traditional project risk management approach and how these limitations may be overcome through more integrated and program-wide uncertainty management. He will also review the areas of uncertainty which are known to create significant risks in complex project environments.
