About Liezel

Liezel is a Senior IT Project/Program Manager with over 15 years’ experience in private and public sector organisations in the UK, South Africa and Australia. Liezel is currently employed by Deloitte Australia where she works with several clients including Aurizon, Queensland Rail and Rio Tinto. Prior to her current position Liezel was the Transition Manager at the Gold Coast City Council where she was instrumental in transitioning the SAP ERP Project (Release 1) to operations and SAP Support.

Liezel's curiosity for what drives human performance has seen her go over and above her duties as PM. Apart from managing Change in several of her projects, Liezel has taken a leading role at my current organisation to develop and grow leadership skills and abilities of consultants. Establishing the “People Excellence” program, Liezel has initiated a learning & development framework that has led to participants being more engaged, aware and accountable for their personal and career growth.

Liezel excels in challenging positions and thrive on the constantly changing conditions and challenges of a project environment. Through strong interpersonal and communication skills, she is able to defuse conflict situations without alienating stakeholders. Liezel's interest in people and human behaviour has seen her mentoring and coaching many colleagues and members of her team to excel in all areas of their lives. The solid foundation of Liezel's career was laid when she worked at Deloitte Consulting (UK) and KPMG Consulting (UK) as a consultant, and where she had the opportunity to develop excellent presentation, training, consulting and management skills.

Liezel is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute (PMI), certified in PRINCE2 (Foundation), a certified SAP Finance Consultant and she has a Masters degree in Information Technology and Management.
