About Janetta

Janetta Mcdiarmid is PMIQ's current PMIQ Board Secretary. She has been a member since 2015.

Janetta is an experienced marketing and project management professional. Over almost 30 years, she has managed marketing and other programs for corporate and public sector organisations.

Moving into project management and governance and recovery in 2006, she is expert in portfolio, program and project management after working in the PMO for Queensland Health and Department of Education. Currently working on a project in State government.

In addition to her professional experience, Janetta is qualified in a range of areas, including marketing, leadership, strategy and forensic accounting. She is PRINCE2, Managing Successful programs (MSP), Portfolio Management and Lean Six Sigma certified. She has a Master’s Degree in Business and Technology from the University of NSW, School of Engineering.

Outside her professional commitments, Janetta has been tutor at QUT in strategy and forensic accounting. Her hobbies revolve around her two daughters. She is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD) and the Governance Institute of Australia.

About the Secretary Role

PMIQld's Volunteer Secretary is an elected role that represents our members, and ensures strong procedural and regulatory governance of our organisation.  Ultimately this role is a custodian of our chapter correspondence, procedures, values and works across all our activities to ensure we stay on Mission, contribute to our strategic Pillars, and create a vibrant and wonderful community for all PMIQld Members. Like most of our board roles the Secretary plays many roles in the chapter - managing our correspondence, keeping us within our charter and constitution, keeping records and minutes, coordinating the order of business within our monthly board meetings, representing PMIQld in the community, being involved in steering committees for major PMIQld Initiatives, supporting our volunteer leaders, and always being available to all members to assist any concerns or opportunities.  In common with all our board roles, elections are run strictly controlled by PMI, with all board members serving 2 year terms with a maximum of 4 consecutive terms allowed on the board.
