About Jason

Jason Kennelly is the Managing Director of Kennelly Consulting and Projects Pty Ltd.  An organisation providing Project Management services helping businesses successfully deliver projects. An organisation providing Project Management services to help businesses successfully deliver projects.  Jason has led teams in a wide range of fields including information technology, telecommunications, education, and government since 1998. Jason’s experience has afforded him broad exposure from the grass roots to the strategic level including personnel, operational and project management as well as committee and board memberships.  Jason has served on boards, committees and steering groups for the Queensland Studies Authority, Queensland University of Technology, Queensland Government, the Project Management Institute, and the United Service Club Queensland since 2008.

Jason is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and completed the AICD Director Nexus program in 2020.  Jason has been a Fellow with the Institute of Managers and Leaders (ANZ) since 2017.

Jason has led research, information technology, and business change projects for Queensland University of Technology, several Queensland Government agencies, and the private sector. Jason initiated the PRINCE2® Accreditation Program at Queensland University of Technology as well as managing the program operationally for six years. Jason and his team established the Department of Education and Training’s Enterprise Portfolio Management Office and he subsequently managed the Program Management Office of a major information technology transformational program at eHealth Queensland.

Jason has volunteered with PMIQ in various roles including: speaker at chapter events, membership of various committees and Lead Consultant at four PMDoS events.  The two notable prior PMIQ leadership positions Jason held are: Director - Certification (2010/2011) and Associate Director – Professional Development (2019).  As Associate Director, Jason led the pilot of digital event delivery.  Enabling PMIQ members to participate in events remotely.  Jason also led the introduction of the Job Club Clinic, an event that matches aspiring and experienced project professionals with recruiters.  Members obtain valuable advice on their CV and interview performance assisting them to advance their career.

Jason joined the PMIQ Board in November, 2019.  As a member of the PMIQ Board, Jason lead the re-branding of PMIQ's online presence to align with the new global PMI Branding Program, participated as a member of the 2020 Board Nomination Committee and coordinated the drafting of new Chapter By-Laws for the election and appointment of PMIQ Board Members.  Jason applies the lessons learned from his first time on the PMIQ Board (2010/2011) and his previous position as Associate Director - Professional Development (2019).  Jason is keen to expand PMIQ’s digital offering and broaden PMIQ’s influence to increase member service offerings through strategic partnerships with universities and industry.

​About the Director at Large Role

PMIQ's Volunteer Directors at Large are elected roles that represents our members, and ensure strong governance of our organisation.  Ultimately our board members are custodians of our chapter values, assets, and contribution to industry; and ensure we stay on Mission, contribute to our Strategic Pillars, and create a vibrant and wonderful community for all PMIQ Members. All of our Directors at Large play many active roles in the chapter - contributing to our monthly board meetings, collaborating with other chapters nationally and internationally, representing PMIQ in the community, bringing networks and supports to PMIQld, being involved in steering committees for major PMIQ Initiatives, leading new or special initiative areas for PMIQ, senior engagement with Queensland Industry, supporting our volunteer leaders, and always being available to all members to assist any concerns, opportunities or correspondence.  In common with all our board roles, elections are run strictly controlled by PMI, with all board members serving 2 year terms with a maximum of 4 consecutive terms allowed on the board.
